The remake of 1978′s Piranha is coming in August 27 2010, and it’s coming in 3D.

Piranha 3D is directed by Alexandre Aja, the man behind High Tension, Mirrors (the remake of Into the Mirror), and the remake The Hills Have Eyes. The movie also has an interesting cast, including Elisabeth Shue, Christopher Lloyd (Hey, it’s a Back to the Future party!), Richard Dreyfuss, Eli Roth, Dina Meyer, Ving Rhames, Jerry O’Connell, and Steven R. McQueen (Steve McQueen’s grandson).

The film was filmed in Lake Havasu, Arizona, which HFZ editor Bill G. has been to and he can vouch for being oppressively hot. He did go in the water there but saw no piranhas. Lots of RVs though.
