Twisted Central will be hosting a fundraiser at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas with filmmaker Michael Stevens, actor A. Michael Baldwin (from Phantasm), and composer Alan Howarth to help bring attention to homeless animals and victims of violent crime.
A. Michael Baldwin
Stevens’ film Brutal will be making it’s premiere during a two night screening on December 7th & 8th at 7pm. Immediately following the showing will be a Q&A session with Stevens, Baldwin (who also stars in the film), and Howarth (composer for the film). Alan Howarth was also the composer for many classics like The Thing and Halloween. A raffle and silent auction will be held with items signed and donated by many horror celebrities with all proceeds going to Operation Kindness, North Texas’ oldest and largest no kill animal shelter and For Those in Need, an organization based in Portland, OR that supports victims of violent crime.
Guests also scheduled to attend the fundraiser include Bill Oberst Jr. (Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies), Camille Keaton (I Spit on Your Grave), Frederic Doss (Humans Vs. Zombies), Kristen Hall (Sweatshop), and model Courtney Crave.
A. Michael Baldwin is best known for the role of Mike in Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm films. He hasn’t been in films for 11 years but decided to come back after reading the script for Brutal. The movie is also co-directed by Darla Rae, who got her start in film as an actress in John Carpenter’s Halloween.
