Reel Renegades Film Festival 2010

A film festival dedicated to “extreme independent cinema” and the breaking of cinematic taboos through artists to push the limits, Reel Renegades will be taking place at The Hidden Castle in Normal, Oklahoma, on June 4th and 45h, 2010.

There will be films (many said to star Troma head honcho Lloyd Kaufman), live music, and a costume contest.

Synopsis: The government has been overthrown by a sun-worshiping drug cult called “Sister Salvation”. A damaged environment and a deadly plague has killed millions. A man who has been subjected to government experiments starts having hallucinations. As the visions get more intense a group of people enter his house in a desperate attempt to get away from the sun. They are now awaiting their fates, can they survive until night fall? Told through a mix of live action, bizarre animation, a haunting score, and multiple psychotic breaks.

Slime City Massacre
Written and Directed by Greg Lamberson
Synopsis: In the wake of a “dirty bomb” attack, a New York City neighborhood known as “Slime City” has been evacuated, except for the homeless (“displaced refugees”). Four squatters searching for food in the ruins of the Zachary Devon Soup Kitchen discover a supply of mysterious wine. When they drink the wine, they are transformed into hideous slime creatures driven to murder – an intermediate step as they are possessed by the spirits of cultists who committed suicide years earlier.

Synopsis: Based on Tony Watt’s graphic novels, the film features the exploits of the assassin anti-hero: Romeo Montague/Patient Zero, “a skilled, mutated android hit-man/pimp/ancient relics collector” who lives in a place called Verona City, a dystopic metropolis filled with horror and sexual deviancy. Featuring a lustfully demonic Astro-Queen, a psychotic South American underworld god,
human/robotic sex-slave party-girls, bloodthirsty zombies, vengeful deities and alien hooker vampire junkies/go-go girls.

Synopsis: On Halloween in the town of Witcham, Connecticut, people mysteriously begin vanishing without a trace, only for several of them to be found later on murdered, prompting many to believe that a group of serial killers or a cult may be on the loose in their small town. When one mans sister goes missing, he sets out to find her, uncovering some of the towns dark secrets along the way.

CockHammer
Written and Directed by Kevin Strange
Synopsis:The story of Terrence and Perander, two pill popping swinger losers whose girlfriends are mysteriously kidnapped by CockHammer, a snuff porn kingpin and occult sorcerer bent on unlocking the secrets of the dreaded black mage diary!

Incest Death Squad
Written and Directed by Cory Udler
Synopsis: The story of Jeb and Amber Wayne, and incestuous brother and sister who kill tourists in the name of God. The film also stars Lloyd Kaufman (from Troma), Elske McCain (Jessica Rabid), Scarlet Salem, George Kosana (Night of the Living Dead) and 80s hair metal giants Britny Fox.

Sewer Chewer
Written and Directed by James Hawley
Synopsis: A space satellite falls to earth and lands in a rural area, radiating the local wildlife into a mutant monster that has a large appetite for humans. An unnamed government agency sends a special agent out to dispose of the satellite, the mutant, and any who know of it. Sewer Chewer is a tribute to the creature features of the 70′s and 80′s drive in movies.

    not quite a horror festival, but close enough, more just extreme cinema, sci-fi, action, horror,animation, etc.
    I am taking submissions for 2nd one in September still.
    The headlining film for September will be Hard Revenge Milly
