Universal Studios Japan, with the help of game company Capcom, is unveiling a new game/simulation called Resident Evil: The Real (aka Biohazard: The Real). This new attraction will allow guests to use their own lifelike handgun, complete with “ammo” and a “gage” that measures your infection levels. The goal of the game is to shoot your way through Resident Evil-type zombies and make it to your final destination without reaching a “maximum” level of infection.
Resident Evil: The Real will feature a detailed gaming environment meant to simulate Raccoon City, and lifelike zombies (holograms, we assume?) The creatures were partly designed by Japanese special effects artist Shinichi Wakasa. It is also said that gameplayers will get a special Umbrella Corporation lanyard, with laminated ID card.
Resident Evil: The Real opens on July 19, 2013 in the Palace Theater (located in the “New York” section of Universal Studios Japan). The attraction runs until November 10th. (Also note that from September 12th to November 10th, it will operate only on weekends). Universal Studios Japan is located in Osaka.
