I Spit On Your Grave
Release Date: October 8, 2010 (limited)
The remake of the 1978 film is supposedly more disturbing and graphic. And the original was no slouch.
Buried
Release Date: October 8, 2010
Paul (Ryan Reynolds) is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq who finds himself buried alive in a coffin, with only a lighter and cell phone. Has been a hit with critics so far.
Paranormal Activity 2
Release Date: October 22, 2010
The sequel to the 2009 hit Paranormal Activity. Written and produced by Oren Peli but with a different director this time around.
Hereafter
Release Date: October 22, 2010
Much more drama than horror – in fact, may not be horror at all – but it does have supernatural elements. Directed by Clint Eastwood, this is a bit of a detour from his usual work. Three lives will intersect – that of George (Matt Damon) an American who can communicate with the dead, Marie (Cécile De France), a French journalist who has a near-death experience, and Marcus (Frankie McLaren), a London schoolboy who loses somebody close to him.
Saw 3D
Release Date: October 29, 2010
The 7th and final film in the long running Saw franchise. Most recurring characters are back – including Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes). Also in 3D, obviously. Features Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, too.
Monsters
Release Date: October 29, 2010 (limited)
Six years after an alien invasion (thanks to a NASA space probe), a journalist agrees to escort an American tourist through an infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border. Said to be like a character-driven romance that happens to have octopus monsters.
